So Much Activism, so Little Time…

One of the first things you see when entering the One Young World venue is a giant poster that reads “What will you do?” It serves as a reminder that One Young World is more than a summit; it’s a call to action, and it’s action that we need.

Today’s agenda was back-to-back sessions from 8:30am to 8pm. We heard from Kofi Annan, Nadya Tolokonnikova, and many of our fellow delegates. Sessions focused on education, the environment, refugees’ and women’s rights.

It’s difficult not to become overwhelmed with so much information and such a high need for immediate change. To stay grounded, I follow the words of Neil DeGrasse Tyson with 2 daily goals “… know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others.” Good deeds may feel like a drop in the bucket, but each drop is significant.
