Our day started at 5:30AM as One Young World has begun full swing. The agenda for today was fully packed and we were happy to be as busy as possible.
The bus has taken us from the hotel to the Bangkok Convention Center. One of the first speakers today was former United Nations general secretary Kofi Annan. The delegates got to ask him questions related to anything in the world ranging from asking for practical advice on how to how become a leader to refugee crisis.
Another highlight speaker was professor winner Muhammad Yunus. His notion of social business brought him a Nobel Prize. When most businesses try to attract the rich, his was hoping to help the poor. Therefore, Prof. Yunus has dedicated his life to fight the poverty through enabling the poor to create jobs rather than seek for them. The penultimate moment of the session became the presentation of 4 social businesses ranging from environment related to street food fighting for an award of 1 million Thai bahts (approx. $30,000).
